Your Friend Behind the Camera

2o years old and full of ambition! Growing up I would get my hands on any camera I could. Whether it was a random point and shoot camera, a Fujifilm Instax Mini, my mom's Nikon, or just my iPhone. In high school I was handed down my first DSLR and began photographing everything I could. After doing photoshoots with my friends a few times, I discovered my passion for photographing people. I started booking senior portrait and couples sessions for my friends during my senior year of high school. And later worked for a local wedding photographer. At this point I knew I for sure this was a career I was going to pursue.

It's Merri here! Your earth loving, music enjoying, adventure seeking, photographer buddy. Your photo shoot or wedding day is as meaningful to me as it is meaningful to you. These images are meant to be everlasting and I am willing to do whatever it takes to capture your beauty as the world sees it. Want to hike to you and your partner's favorite spot? Let's go! I'll bring the granola bars! Have a prop that helps tell your story? Go ahead and bring it! Want some breathtaking photos but have no idea where to take them? Don't worry! I know a spot! Not sure what to do in front of a camera? I got some poses for ya! I aim to provide ease and comfort to your wedding day or photoshoot because you should never feel awkward or stressed in front of my camera. By the end of the day, it'll feel like you were just hanging out with a friend that happened to be taking dope photos of you.

Growing up in the Texas Panhandle gave me the desire to adventure and see more of the world. I mean, what could you expect? It's literally so flat and windy in Amarillo. Why wouldn't I want to see other parts of the world? Ever since I was eight years old, I knew I'd eventually move to Colorado. One thing you should know about me, is when I want to do something, I'll make it happen. So of course, three months after turning 18, I moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado to pursue a degree in professional photography at Colorado Mountain College. This program has brought me some of the greatest friends and mentors, and taught me some of the most valuable lessens for my career. I absolutely love living in the Roaring Fork Valley and getting to explore Mama Earth everyday. I've experienced so many new cool things since leaving Texas and I can't wait to go on more adventures!
